Cornett, George
George Cornett, 74, of Gravois Mills, died July 8, ____ at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City from a gunshot wound in the chest. He was born in the Gravois Mills community and lived there his entire life.  A son of William and Sarah Cornett.  In 1909 he was united in marriage to Cora FarrHe is survived by: six children: 3 daughters: Mrs. Belva Allen, Versailles; Mrs. Lucille Caswell, Kansas City and Mrs. Louise Blands, Kansas City; 3 sons: Woodrow of Seattle, Washington; Berry of Sedalia and Elwood of Kansas City.  3 brothers: Lester of Versailles; Acie of Piermont, Mo. and Willie of Eldon; 2 sisters: Mrs. Rhoda McGinnis and Mrs. Alice Moore, both of Versailles; 12 grandchildren.  She ws a member of the Gravois Mills Baptist Church.
   Services were held at Scrivner's Chapel with the Rev. L.V. Webb officiating.  Pallbearers: Jess Sousley, Jake Dunn, Ralph Bias, Tom Farr, Fred Hibdon and Charley Sidebottom. Burial in the Ivy Cemetery near Gravois Beach.
