Campbell, Milton
Milton Campbell died at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City on June
2 of injuries received when he was hit by a car while riding horseback
a short distance south of Versailles. He lived on a farm just south
of Hulett Creek. The car was criven by Robert Wilson, son of Rev.
& Mrs. Robert Wilson. Given emergency treatment at Gunn Clinic.
Milton was the son of James A. & Laura Campbell he was born Jan 4,
1893 at Proctor, Mo. On Feb 2, 1918 he married Miss Emma Ratcliff
and had 3 sons and 7 daughters. He was preceded in death by his parents;
2 sisters: Grace and Nora; a brother: Roy; his wife: Emma; one son Edward
and twin daughters: Nora and Dora Campbell. On December 8, 1942 he
married Corrine Blanton. He is survived by his wife; 5 daughters:Mrs.
J.T. Hull of Kansas City; Mrs. Glenn Watts; Mrs. J.C. Garrison and Mrs.
Gussie and Dimple Campbell, all of Versaills; 2 sons: Milton Jr. and James
of Versailles; 2 sisters: Mrs. Fred Ponger & Mrs. Earl Ahart and 1
brother Harold Campbell, near Versailles. Services were held at the
Methodist Church with teh Rev. Lym Firestone officiating. Internment was
in the Versailles cemetery. Services under the direction of Kidwell's.
