Brown, Elisha Fanklin
Elisha Franklin Brown, 81, died September 30, 1954.
He was born on a farm in Miller county Missouri on January 18, 1875, a
son of Captain Sayles and Mary Alice Pierce Brown. Tho oldest of 5 children.
Of the family only the youngest brother, Ollis S. Browwn of Altadena California
survive. December 27, 1894 he was married to Anna Elizabeth Cotten
and they had 1 daughter, now Mrs. alice Marie Luvett of Manhatten, Kansas.
Mrs. Brown died January 17, 1930. On December 11, 1931 he was married
to Mary "Iva" Johnson who survives him. Besides his widow and daughter,
he leaves: 1 grandson, Gene Donald Lovett; 1 great-grandson: Dean Thomas
Lovett of Mahattan Kansas: 1 nephew: Sayles R. Brown of Oklahoma City Oklahoma;
7 half-nephews: Wesley, Dan and Jeff Brown and Elmer, Jim, Alvie and Ralph
and 1 nieceStella Bond, all of Miller county. He spent the early
years of his life in Miller county where he was first a teacher and then
a businessman in Eldon. Later he was a salesman with W.H. Hutchinson
co. of Chicago, having a territory covering 8 states including: Missouri,
Arkansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and Idaho. Upon retirement
in 1939 he purchased a farm near Paola Kansas, where he remained until
1944. He then moved to his home near Versailles.
The funeral was held with the Rev. e.D. Watkins Jr. officiating.
Burial in the Versailles cemetery under the direction of Kidwell Funeral
Home.
