BARTON, Emmette Arthur

Barton, Emmette Arthur Rev. Emmette Arthur Barton, 68, Rt.2, Versailles
died early Tuesday morning, April 24, 1979 at Bothwell Community
Hospital in Sedalia.  He was born August 20, 1910 in Carthage, son of
the Late Emmette L. and Martha Ethel Clapper Barton.  He was married
January 18, 1941 to Helen Lorene Chamberlain, who survives He was
licensed in Ministry at the Green Dale Baptist Church in Kansas City and
was ordained at the Bethlehem Southern Baptist Church at Florence.  He
was serving as pastor of the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Bunceton.  In
addition to his wife, he is survived by 1 son Emmette A. "Butch" Barton
Jr. of Versailles; one daughter: Mrs. Anna Maria Grider of Versailles
and one grandson Barry Lee Grider.
   Funeral services Thursday, April 26 at West Union Baptist Church with
the Rev. Stanley Birge officiating assisted by Rev. John Farris and Rev.
George Duckworth.  Harold Tickner sang "In Times Like These" and "In The
Garden". Organ by Mrs Judy Weaver.  Ministers of the Lamine Association
served as Pall Bearers. Interment in the Versailles cemetery.
