Anderson, James Franklin
James Franklin Anderson died November 27, 1954 at
the age of 82 years, 1 month and 7 days. He was a son of Henry and
Nancy Kelsay Anderson, born October 20, 1872 in Morgan county, near Caoe
Galena. In 1894 he was married to Effie Stevens. They were
the parents of 2 sons. Mr Anderson is survived by 1 son: Bryan Anderson;
1 step-son: John Stevens of Eldon; 3 step-daughters: Mrs. Nell Hackler
of Eldon, Mrs. Hettie Austin of Jefferson City and Mrs. Mae White of Columbia;
2 sisters: Mrs. Louella Dearalph and Mrs. Bell Pettigrew of Versailles;
1 brother: Lee Anderson of near Gravois Mills; 1 grandson: Jimmy Anderson
who is attached to a unit of US forces in Germany; one great granddaughter:
Julie Anderson of Versailles; 13 nieces and nephews. He was preceded
in death by his wife, three years ago; a son: Everett, at the age of 2
years; 1 brother Bill Anderson, Denver Colorado; 2 sisters: Maggie Allen
of Wichita Kansas and Mettie Bond of Topeka Kansas; 4 half sisters: Mrs.
Jack Purvis, Mary Cash, Sarah Allen and Betty Howser; 3 half brothers:
JessieAnderson, Walter Anderson and Willie Anderson.
He belonged to the Presbyterian Church, then the Gravois
Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held at the Gravois Mills Methodist
Church with the Rev. P.H. Wilbanks officiating assisted by G.T. Rolston.
Pallbearers: Elwood and Sherman Hackler, Everett and Roy Anderson, Marshall
and Joe Howard, all nephews of the deceased. Hymns: Mrs. Donald Bell,
Mrs Paul Johnson, Mrs. Ellis James, Charley McKinley, Billy J. Williams,
Mrs. Chas Thornton - piano by Mrs. Clarence Boyer. Burial was in the Versailles
cemetery under the direction of Scrivner's Funeral Services. (Card
