Allen, Mrs. J.W. (Gorman, Minnie Hazel)
    Widow of the late J.W. Allen and aformer resident of Versailles died August 30, 1955 in Heidleburg Germany.  She had been in the US Army hospital about 6 weeks.  The immediate cause of death was said to be uremia.  She had been staying in Germany with her son-in-law and daughter: Capt. & Mrs. B.O. Catron.  Mrs. Allen's body was brought by plane to Dover, Delaware and by train to Kidwell Funeral Home in Versailles.  Mrs Allen was born Minnie Hazel Gorman on January 21, 1893 on the Gorman farm 3 1/2 miles southeast of Versailles.  She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church.  In 1911 she married J.W. Allen of Versailles.  They had 2 daughters: Jeanette (who is now Mrs. Drew Spurlock of Versailles) and Gwendolyn (now Mrs. B.O. Catron).
    She is survived by her two daughters; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: James A. Gorham, Versailles and B. Arley Gorham of Temple City California; 2 sistersL Edna Hutson, Portland Oregon and Ellen Hill, Union Missouri.
    Funeral services were held in the First Baptist Church with burial in the Versailles cemetery.
