Obituary--Aunt Sarah Hibdon
 The death angel again entered the Barnett community, calling away Aunt Sarah Hibdon, aged  mother of Mrs. Ed Finley, Aunt Sarah had been ill for some time. She passed away at the Ed Finley home about 6 p.m. on March 28. She was born March 6,
1860 and was the daughter of Wm. and Nancy J. James. She lived in Camden county until 20 years ago when she came to this community to make her home.
 October 25, 1879 she was united in marriage to John W. Hibdon. To this union were born ten children, four of whom, with the husband and father, preceded her in death. Andrew died at the age of four years; James was killed at a sawmill in 1905; Stella
died in 1906, and Arthur was killed in action in France, November 10, 1918.
 She is survived by the following children: Rev. J. L. Hibdon, Bunceton; Bill Hibdon, Versailles; Mrs. Tllie Crawshaw, Maple Hill, Kansas; Orville Hibdon, Barnett, Mrs. B. F. Banner, Kansas City, and Mrs. Ethel Finley, Barnett. Mrs. Hibdon leaves 31
grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Six grandsons are in the service of their country. They are Sgt. Harrison Finley, with the U. S. Army in Germany; Sgt. Lloyd Finley, Alaska; John A. Hibdon firmean first class, U. S. Navy, Alfred Hibdon, Merchant
Marine, Pfc. Kenneth Banner, France, and Cpl. John Robert Crawshaw, who  is in France.
 When a young woman Mrs. Hibdon professed the christian faith and was an active worker in the Church of God. She was a good old-fashioned christian mother, who loved her family and spent her life teaching and serving them. She was a kind neighbor
and  friend and many will miss her loving presence.
 Funeral services were conducted at the Barnett Union church by the Rev. L. V. Webb. Music was furnished by Mrs. C. L. Williams, Mrs. Waid Miller, Mrs. A. D. Hardin and Mrs. Dwight Jones with Mrs. C. L. Hatler at the piano. Burial was in Holst
cemetery near Gravois Mills, with the Kay Funeral Service in charge.

MRS GEO. HIBDON DEAD
  Emma Elizabeth Meyer was born in Marion County, Illinois on  November 20, 1864 and died October 4, 1931, being at the time of her death  66 years old, 10 months and 14 days old.
   She was married to George W Hibdon on April 2, 1885.  She leaves to mourn her loss her husband and nine children, as follows; Hiram, of Rinehart;    Mrs Fannie Walters, Gravois Mills;   Mrs  Josephine May, Kansas City; Tom and Edd, Gravois Mills;  Mrs.
Kate Stevens, Warrensburg and Ada, Charles and Essie of the home.   An infant son preceeded her in death on  April 15, 1897.
   She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Mary Holst and Mrs Kate Holst of Gravois Mills.
    Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the home.  Interment was made in the Holst Cemetery

 Essie Gertrude Hibdon
born Jan 25, 1907 died  Oct 15, 1975
parents  George W and Emma E Meyer Hibdon. Essie never married; she is  survived by one sister Ada Hibdon and one brother Ed of Laurie preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers and her parents:  Mrs. Kate Stevens, Mrs Fannie Walters, Mrs Josephine May, Charley, Tom and Hiram Hibdon.

Mrs Susan Kennedy, born October 7 1866. Rev Johnson officiating.  Buried in the Versailles cemetery. Survived by the following children: Mrs Carrie Chamberlain; Milburn Kennedy; Mrs W.E. Finley, Eldon; Ed Kennedy, Mrs Coy Baquet,d. Mrs Ross Parrish.  Preceded in death by a duaghter: Mrs. Effie Fletcher and 2 sons, Mart & William Kennedy.  Also leaves a step-daughter: Mrs Jim Raines, Oak Grove, MO. 2 step-daughters preceded her in death:  Mrs. Will Dunnaway and Mrs Will Chamberlain.

Jennie Josephine Hibdon was born in Morgan county, MO December 26, 1881 the daughter of Charlie and Martha Forester Silvey, and died May 12, 1956 at her home. She was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Pernia Hibdon; her parents; 2 brothers, Marion and Willie Silvey and one sister, Mrs. Linnie Coffman. She is survived by her husband, Cornie Hibdon; 2 sons, Charles Gilbert and Lloyd Monroe; 1 daughter, Mrs Edna Ivy Coontz; 2 sisters, Mis Oscar (Maggie) Morris and Mrs. Gracie Hill of Quincey, IL.; a grandson, Darrell Hibdon, who was reared in the home. 7 grandchildren.  Fuenral at Gravois BaptistChurch May 14, 1956. Rev Leonard Webb officiating. Burial in Silvey cemetery. Services handled by Kidwell's of Versailles.

      Billy Hibdon, lifetime resident of Morgan county, passed away at his home near Laurie Missouri November 9, 1969 at the age of 85 years. He was united in marriage to Miss Delia Ann Moore on January 16, 1902.  She preceded him in death on January 5, 1961.  Surviving are 2 children: Robert Hibdon and Mrs. Anna Silvey, both of Laurie. 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
     Funeral services at Ozark Chapel Methodist Church of Laurie,  of which he was an active member. Rev. J.H. Thornberry officiating. Hymns were sung by Mrs. Pat Walters and Mrs. Mary Ann Terry. Organ: Mrs. Walters.  Pallbearers were grandsons of Mr. Hibdon. Interment in the Ozark Chapel cemetery under the direction of Kidwell Funeral Home.

James Edward (Ted) Hibdon, age 60,  was a son of William Peter Hibdon Jr. and Mary McFarland Hibdon.  He is survived by his wife; Mrs. Sarah Hibdon; 6 brothers: Henry Hibdon, Jordan (Jurd), Tulsa OK; Cornie; Johnnie; Billy of Gravois Mills MO; Jerry Hibdon of Stover; a sister: Julia Davenport of Waynesville, MO; 4 grandsons, Harold Gregg, Billy Jasin, Glenn Everett, and Teddy; 3 step daughters: Mrs. Arthur Wisdom of Cherokee KS. Mrs. Joe (Marie) Lees of Versailles MO; Mrs Earl Carver of Gravois Mills MO; 4 step sons: Tom & Lee kelly of Bonneville, Jack Kelly of Yuba City, CA and Johnnie Kelly of Kansas City. Also preceded in death by a daughter: Mrs. Ed (Addie Lou Mary) Hibdon.

Mrs W. E. James age 74 died May 25,  she was a daughter of the late William and Pernecia Vaughn.  She was born in Moniteau county,MO, Feburary 3, 1876.  Married to William E. James. They had 10 children; six sons and four daughters.  One son preceded her in death at the age of 10 years.  She is survived by her husband and the following children: Ernest and Vencil of Kansas City; Hayden and Ellis of Gravois Mills; Bil of Stover; Mrs. Alta Huff and Mrs. Nellie Carter of Kansas City; Mrs Alma Roe of Camdenton; and Mrs Alpha Bauer of Versailles; 28 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 brother and 3 sisters.
