JOHN B. TRYON
John B. Tryon, 77, of 706 S. Walnut St. Eldon, died Thursday, April
5, 1984 at Osage Manor Nursing Home in Eldon.
He was born March 25, 1907 in Rocky Mount to James S. and Mary M.
Shelton Tryon. On July 9, 1945 he was married to Elsie Ellen Calton, who
survives.
Mr. Tryon was an employee of the Rock Island Railroad until he
retired in 1972.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Cecil
(Hazel) Jeffries of Eldon; three grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Griswold Kays
Funeral Home with the Rev. Eldon Myers officiating. Burial was in
Greenmore Memorial Gardens.

MRS. COOPER, 41, DIES; SERVICES HELD ON SUNDAY
Funeral services were held at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Union Baptist
church near rocky Mount for Mrs. Goldie Bethel Cooper of Rte. 2, Eldon.
Mrs. Cooper, 41, died of a heart condition at 10:10 a.m. Friday,
Feb. 20, 1970, at Charles E. Still Hospital, Jefferson City.
She was the wife of Louis Raymond Cooper who survives at the family
home in the Rocky Mount community.
She was born on Aug. 13, 1938 in Camden county, the daughter of John
Edward and Hattie Opel (McCasland) Calton.
She and Mr. Cooper were married July 15, 1951.
Mrs. Cooper was a member of the Union Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she is survived by one
son, Dallas Ray Cooper, of the home; six sisters, Elsie Tryon of Barnett,
rosie Howser of Rocky Mount, and Broox Sullins, Eunice Calton, anna Wells
and Alice Calton, all of Eldon; and six brothers, Aubrey and John Calton
of Versailles, Jim, Roy, and Lonnie Calton, all of Russellville and Ben
Calton of Olean.
The rev. James DeLong officiated at the funeral services Sunday.
Burial was in the Union cemetery under the direction of Phillips Funeral
Home of Eldon. Nephews served as pallbearers.
Goldie married Lewis Raymond COOPER. Lewis was born Apr 30 1911. He died Jun 30 1984.

LOUIS RAYMOND COOPER
Louis Raymond Cooper, 73, of Rte. 2, Eldon, died Saturday, June 30,
1984, at the home of his son on Rte. 1, Russellville.
He was born April 30, 1911, at Eldon to William Matthew and Elzinia
V. Bunch Cooper. On July 15, 1951m he was married in Harrison Ark. to
Goldie Bethel Calton, who died Feb. 20, 1970.
Mr. Cooper had been a maintenance worker with the Rock Island
Railroad before retiring. He lived in Kansas City during the 1940's but
spent most of his life in the Eldon area. He was a member of the Unoion
Baptist Church in Rocky Mount.
Surviving him are a son, Dallas Ray Cooper of Russellville; three
sisters, Burla McGorder, Vertie Parsons and Viola Sidebottom, all of
Eldon and two grandsons, six brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral
Home with the Rev. Delmon Marriott officiating. Burial was in the Union
cemetery.

Ben Calton, 64, of Russellville died Tuesday, May 9, 1995, at his home
He was born Dec. 11, 1930 in Camden county to John Edward and Hattie
Ope McCasland Calton.
Mr. Calton had worked as a farm laborer. He was a member of the
National Rifle Association.
Surviving him are a duaghter, Frances Louise Hobbs of Waynesville;
two sons, Gene Calton of Eldon and Kenneth Wayne Calton of Versailles;
six sisters, Elsie Tryon, Eunice Casteel, Anna Wells and Alice Calton,
all of Eldon, Rosemary Howser of Rocky Mount and Broox Sullins of
Jefferson City; four brothers, Aubrey Calton of Versailles, Jim Calton of
Russellville and Roy Calton and Lonnie Calton, both of Eldon; 10
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitiation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Phillips
Funeral Home in Eldon.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Phillips
Funeral Home with burial in Greenmore Memorial Gardens at Barnett.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
