One hundred twenty-five friends, teachers and former pupils attended the
tea yesterday afternoon in Park school auditorium honoring Miss Alma
Mount,who is retiring after teaching there for 10 years and in the LaPorte
public school system since 1924.
Hosts for the party were the PTA retiring officers, Mrs. Herbert F. Kessler,
president; Mrs. Robert Hoke, vice president; Russel Palm, principal and
second vice president; Mrs. J. E. William, secretary, and Mrs. Merlin Sampson,
treasurer.
Miss Mount was presented a corsage and a farewell gift from the Park
school PTA. Mrs.Kessler and Mr. Palm greeted guests at the door, Mrs. Williams
presided at the guest book and Mrs. Hoke and Mrs. Sampson at the punch bowl.
The table was covered in white lace over an orchid cloth and accented with
an arrangement of mixed flowers in shades of lavender in milk glass appoints
with orchid candles and touches
of lilies-of-the-valley. White frosted cake slices with grape punch and
salted nuts were served.
Others assisting the hosts were Mr. Walter Boklund and Mrs. Wayne Wilberg.
