This family was in 1880 Jackson Co, MO and 1900 Brown Co, IL;  
This has been a hard family to track, they seemed to move 
around a lot. A daughter told that about 1874 they moved to 
Mineral Springs, near Versailles, IL and the family ran a hotel. 
About 1876 the family started West in a covered wagon, wintered 
in Iowa. When they reached the mountains and heard about the 
Indians, they turned back and settled in Norton Co, KS; 
Hard times forced them to leave KS and they went back to 
Independence, Benton Co, MO;later moved to Scott Co, IL;
