Dear cosin
I take this opportunity
to drop you a few lines to let you know that we are still on the sod we are
all well at
present hoping when these few lines comes to hand they may find you all well
and doing
well I have nothing good to write to you at this
time but I will tell you how we are getting a long
we are not done
harvesting yet but I think we will get done this weak our corn is just gon up for
this year there is half of the corn in this country
that has not bin plowed the first time yet and it
is so wet that we
cannot plow it has rained nearly every day for 16 days and the hardest storms
that I ever
Seene in my life the wind has tore down
our orchard and our timber so bad that we
can hardley get
from one place to another our wheat is
tollerable good but the ground is so soft
the reepers
just mires down so we can hardley do any thing hams hands is scarse and hard to
get
we are paying
1.50 per day I here of some paying from
2 to $3.00 aday Well Stephen we are
going
to have a
picnic up here next Saturday I would like to see you up here for I believe we
will have
anise time if
the weather will admit I am going to
put up an ice cream stand and if you will come
up here I think
I can cool you of with ice cream and lemonade candy and nuts Tell Stephen I will
have to go to
Leanders to day and get my Sash and apron for I will not have time to go in the
week
I wish you
would rite and tell me how you are gettin a long and what you think of going to
texas this
fall I would
like to go but I do not like to go by myself for fear I might get hurt I want
to go to bell
Co texas Write Soon and tell me what you are going
to do for I want to make som arangements
and if you do
not go try to make some other shift So
I will close for this time and wait for an answer

come down there and flog him I am glad
you herd from James for I was uneasy about him
I was afraid he
was dead I herd from him the other day
I got a letter from one of uncle Colemans Drapers
girls and She
said he had bin there I will close
