Dear Cosin

 

I take this opportunity to answer you most kind and welcome letter which came to hand in due

time  I was glad to here from you and to here that you was all well except your mother and I

hope these few lines may find you all well  this leaves us all well at present but I am sorry to

tell you that AUNT TRIFENIA HOLIDAY is dead  She died last thursday morning the 7th at 2 oclock 

there was a great many people at the burying   Well Stephen I havent any thing els new to write

this time we will have winter up here it has bin snowing most all day and it is tollerable cold 

there is a good deal of sickness up here and it is most all fatle. We havent commenced farming

any yet  Wheat is worth 65~ per bushel  Corn 35 to 50 cents per bushel hay 19 to 20 per ton

oats 25 cents per bushel.

 

Well Stephen I will close here hoping to here from you soon So I must Close for this time 

So good by  I Still remain your cosin till death.

I wish to inquire of you whether or not you have heard from UNCLE CALEB PATE laitly  I have

rote some too or three times and havent got no answer yet   I will be glad to here from him

Well Stephen I would be very glad if you all get any word from him you would let me know of

it and if you get any word from him you will try and find out Somethin from UNCLE ANTHONY PATE
