Our Ross roots have been difficult to decipher. After trying to find where the name "Sherry" came for a male - it was discovered that he was given his grandmother's maiden name as a first name. Sherry helped homestead Ross Island in the Willamette River in Portland, OR. Stephen, Sherry's brother, is our ancestor. Both Stephen and Sherry died at the age of 43! Their parents' names are not yet proven but are the most likely to date.
