In the name of God amen. I Catherine Ambrose of Frederick County and State of Maryland (widow) being of perfect health and memory but calling to mind the uncertainty of this life knowing that it is appointed for all persons to die do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following to wit.

Item my will and desire is that all my property at my decease (except as hereafter excepted or particularly domised) shall be equally divided among my five sons viz. Henry Ambrose, Jacob Ambrose, Mathias Ambrose, John Ambrose & Ludwick Ambrose and my four daughters, viz. Sophia, Catherine, Margaret & Eve, share and share alike. Nevertheless my will and desire is that all my wearing apparel with the bed and beding which I make use of myself, consisting of my bedstead, feather bed, six sheets, two blankets, four pillows with four pillow cases, be equally divided among my four daughters, viz. Sophia, Catherine, Margaret & Eve, share & share alike, to be divided by my executors hereafter named without making sale thereof.

Item I do hereby authorize my executors hereafter named to collect all moneys due me on bond, note or book account and direct them to pay all my just debts, funeral charges and in case I should have a person employed during sickness, to satisfy such person for their trouble fully, which is to be taken out of my estate before distribution be made as above directed.

Lastly I nominate and appoint my trusty friends John Snook and Daniel Rouser executors of this my last will & testament, reatifying this and no other. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this thirty first day of May A. D. eighteen hundred.
