Berkeley County Deed Book 27, page 310:

This Indenture made and contracted this 26th day of August in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen Between Henry Ambrose and Sarah his wife of Hampshire County and state of Virginia of the one part and Abraham Boarer of Berkely County and State of virginia of the other part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars to the said Henry Ambrose and Sarah his wife in hand paid by the said Abraham Boarer at or before sealing and delivering of these presents he the said Henry Ambrose and Sarah his wife the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and thereof doth release acquit and discharge the said Abraham Boarer his heirs and assigns by these presents he the said Henry Ambrose and Nancy his wife hath bargained sold granted allow sell impressed conveyed and made over unto the said Abraham Boarer his heirs and assigns forever two parts of containamets or parcels of land situate Lying and being in Berkeley County & State of aforesaid on the drains of sleepy Creek and conveyed to said Henry Ambrose by Edward Crabb the one tract and the other to said Ambrose by Solome Boarer both dec'd joining each other the one part conveyed by Crabb is bounded as follows. Beginning at a pine on the point of a Ridge on the East side of a Drain and in a line of the original, then with said line So 1° W 227 poles to two white oaks on said side of drain then So 52 E 62 poles to a white oak in Stephen Millers line then So 5° E 4 poles to between a Hickory and black oak in the line corner to the said original then with the original So 62° W 120 poles to a pine on a flat ridge in said line then leaving the line No 25° W 71-1/3 poles to a stone near a White oak then So 57° E 115 poles to the Beginning Containing 50 acres the other part of a tract conveyed by adam Boarer to said Henry Am- brose is bounded as follows.

Beginning at a stake in the third line of the original then leaving it and ___ through the survey S 11° E 173 poles to a ___ white oak in the seventh line of the ori- ginal then with said line S0 33 W 14 poles to two ___ oak saplings the last corner of the original then with the last line S 46 W 42 poles to two white oaks and a pine in said line there leaving it and continuing through through the original So 14 W 160 poles to a stand of Spanish oaks and found in the said third line there with said line N 617 E 53 poles to the beginning con- taining fifty acres the same more or less together with all and singular the buildings orchards water and water courses profits commodities hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the said premises here by granted or in any point belonging or in any wise appurtaining and the reversion & reversions remainder and remainders deeds trusts issues and profits thereof or thereto belonging and also all the estate right title interest interests property and claim whatsoever of them the said Henry Ambrose and Sarah his wife of in and to the premises hereby granted and all deeds evidences and writings touching or in any wise concerning the same to have and to hold the said parts or parcels of land and all and singular the premises hereby granted and every part and parcel thereof or thereto belonging with their and every of their appurtenances as unto the said Abraham Boarer his heirs and assigns for- ever to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Abraham Boarer his heirs and assigns forever.

And the said Henry Ambrose and Sarah his wife further ___ their heirs executors administrators and assigns doth covenant promise grant and agree to and with the said Abraham Boarer his heirs and assigns by these presents that the said Henry Ambrose and Sarah his wife now at this time of sealing and delivering of these presents is seized of and in and to a good sure perfect and absolute es-tate of inheritance in fee simple of in and to the premises hereby granted and they have good power carefull and absolute authority to grant and convey the same to the said Abraham Boarer his heirs and assigns in manner and form aforesaid & that the premises now are and so forever hereafter shall remain and be free and clear of and from all other and former gifts grants bargains sales dower rights and title of dower judgments executions titles troubles charges and incumberances whatsoever made done or committed or suffered to be ___ by the said Henry Ambrose and Sarah wife & their heirs and assigns against him the said Henry Ambrose and Sarah his wife ___ all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and by these presents defend. In witness whereof the parties first afore mentioned hath hereunto set their hands and their seals to be affixed the day and year above written

Berkeley County To Wit,
We Nicholas Orrichs and John Hunter Justices of the peace in the County aforesaid in the state of Virginia do hereby certify that Sarah Am-brose the Wife of Henry Ambrose parties to a certain deed for the conveyance real estate to Abraham Bohrer hearing state the 28th day of August 1815 personally appeared before us privately and apart from her husband and having the deed afore-said fully explained to her she the said Sarah Ambrose acknowledged the same to be her act and deed ___ that she had willingly signed sealed and delivered the same and that she wished not to retract it. Given under our hands & seals this 28th day of August 1815

Berkeley to wit:
We Nicholas Orrich and John Hunter Magistrates of said County do hereby certify that Hen-ry Ambrose qnd Sarah his wife parties to the within conveyance hath duly acknowledged the same before us on the 28th day of Augst 1815 and ___ us to certify the said acknowledgement to the Clerk of the County Court of Berkeley in order that the said conveyance may be recorded, as writ. ___ our hands and seals this 28th day of August 1815
