Many an old timer and some not so old, can remember the city drayman with his fine team of horses clippity-clopping down the main street.
He may think they are sll gone. But they are not quite, not by a long shot, as anyone living in Brojen Bow can tell you.
Oscar EUBANK still drives a dray in town with a fancy stepping team of sorrel horses. He has been in the business in Broken Bow for the last 43 years.
Mr. EUBANK has been around Custer County for a long time. He was born at Lincoln in 1878 and came to Custer County in '79. His father, Dick EUBANK, homesteaded eight miles south of Sargent on what is now known as the Brass Ranch. Since then he has always lived in this county.
Prior to going into the dray business, Oscar drove stage for the famous old time sheriff of the county, Charles RICHARDSON
One of the side lines connected with his work was fitting horses for sale to eastern buyers. He would buy likely looking horses, break them and gentle them by using them on the dray weagon.
