The 3 important people behind this Official Parler Family Web.

Withouttheir help this website could have never been created.

The grandparents of MaryAnn Parler-Kisela, Carrie Parler-Gibson, and great grandparents of Brad (site webmaster), were both born in Norway and married in America. They homesteaded and farmed in Wellington township, six miles east of Willow City in Bottineau County, North Dakota and raised a family of ten children.

They farmed there until Tollef was involved in a farm accident when the horses were frightened by a neighbors gunshot and the rakes were dragged over him. Unable to continue with his farm work, the children were sent to live with married siblings when the bank repossessed his farm. The remainder of the family lived on their homestead until about 1920 when they moved to the town of Overly. Although not a working farm today the land is owned by the Olson family, our first cousins.

Our mother Carrie Marie Parler was sent to Florida to live with an older married sister, where she met and married Daniel St.Clair Parler. She died in 1961 sometime after moving to Capitola, Ca. and is buried at San Bruno, Ca. Veterans Cemetery with her 2nd husband.
