Sylvanus Parker, seventh child of Sylvanus and Lovey (Mecham) Parker of Ashfield, MA, was married to Hannah Hartford of Rochester, NY, about the year 1821, and married again in 1846 to Rebecca Lippincott (Obituary), of Lima, Ohio. He and his first wife moved to Holmes County after being married and from there to Allen County, Ohio, in the spring of 1835, at which homestead both lived until their death. Their children are as follows: Children of Sylvanus and Hannah Parker are: 1. JAMES WHITNEY Photo, Obituary, Will (b.11/22/1824 at Rochester, NY, d. 8/23/1894 at Leesburg, IN) married Eliza Jane Lippincott (b.7/3/1830 Logan Co, OH, d.1/23/1904 Kosciusko Co, IN) Obituary on 2/13/1848 near Lima, OH, fourteen children. Both James and Eliza are buried at Oswego Cemetery, Oswego, Indiana. 2. Elias H. (b.7/5/1828 at Rochester, NY d.9/28/1907 at Wonewoc, WI) married Louise Daniels of Lima, OH at Lima, June 23, 1852...six children. He was one of the first settlers in Wonewoc, Wisconsin, settling there in 1855. He served in Co. I, 6th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry in the Civil War. He and his wife are buried at Pine Eden Cemetery, Wonewoc, WI. Obituary, Photo of Gravestone 3. Silas (b. 7/4/1830 at Millersburg, Holmes County, OH), Silas married Ann Maria Bailey on April 19, 1859 at Lima. One child born in Lima. 4. Ephraim Warren (b.10/9/1832 at Millersburg, Holmes County, Ohio d.9/29/1900) married Emily Atmur at Lima, OH 4/19/ 1866. He served in Co. I, 50th Reg., and Co. E, 99th Reg., O.V.I. in the Civil War. Four children, one of which is Marshal A. (b.1878 at Lima, OH), the author of this genealogy. 5. Jason (b. 1834 at Lima, OH), Jason was the flag bearer for the 69th Ohio Regiment in the Civil War, and he was killed in the battle of Stones River, Dec, 1862. 6. Nathan Merrit (b.1837 at Lima) married Irene Watt of Lima on 12/8/1859. Two children born at Kendleville, IN 7. Sylvanus (b.1840 at Lima d.1842) 8. Cyrenus U. (b.2/8/1843) Rev., married Margaret Roberts at Lima, 11/10/1859. Nine children born at Lima, OH. 9. Mary J. (b.1845 at Lima) married J.A.D. Taylor at Lima on 8/10/1865. Five children, first four born at Lima, last at Ossian, IN. Child of Sylvanus and Rebecca Parker: 10. Elizabeth (b.1850 at Lima d. 1852 at Lima, OH) (7.) Dr. James W. Parker, first child of Sylvanus and Hannah (Hartford) Parker, was born 11/22/1824 at Rochester, New York. He moved first to Ohio, and later on to Tippecanoe Township, Kosciusko County, Indiana in the fall of 1865; the address was Oswego, Indiana. He married Eliza Jane Lippincott on 2/13/1848 near Lima, Ohio, whose mother was Rebecca (Bland) Lippincott, later in life to marry Sylvanus Parker, father of the Dr. Their children are as follows: Children of James W. and Eliza Jane Parker: 1. Whitney (b.1856 at Lima, OH) married Ada Dorsey of Pierceton, IN, on 3/14/1885, Kosciusko Co, Indiana; four children born in Pierceton 6. Mary A. (b.1859 at Lima, OH) married Henry Lentz of Warsaw, IN on 1/30/1879 Kosciusko Co..five children. 7. Sabrina J. (b.1860 at Lima, OH, d.1915 buried at Compton Cemetery, Columbia Township, Whitley County, IN) married Jacob Rough/Rouch of Columbia City, IN, on 2/26/1885, Kosciusko Co, Indiana ...one child. 8. Albert (b.4/3/1862 at Lima, OH)) married Martha A. Kirkpatrick of Warsaw, IN on 12/5/1880 Kosciusko Co...seven children, first five b. at Atwood, IN, last at Ora, IN 9. Anna (b. 4/5/1864 at Lima, OH) married Frank Purdy of Lima, OH...one child. 10.ELIJAH JAMES (b. 4/5/1866 near Oswego, IN, d.11/12/1956 San Diego, CA) married Ada Mary Orr Obituary (b.1/11/1868 at Champaign Co.,Ohio, d.4/19/1951 San Diego, CA) on 1/24/1889 at Kosciusko Co., Indiana...two children. 11. Emma (b.Oswego, IN, in 1868, died 4/25/1873; buried at Oswego Cemetery, Oswego, IN) 12. William (b.12/31/1869 near Oswego, IN, d.1946) married Cassie Butterbaugh Obituary, on 10/8/1891, Kosciusko Co., two children. 13. Rose (Rosella, b.3/5/1872 near Oswego, IN) married Charles E. Becknell of Warsaw, Indiana on 4/20/1893, two children born in Columbia City, IN My Grandfather Thomas A. Parker writes that the information on the children of James W. is rather incomplete due to the fact that the record was in the family Bible that burned when Uncle Albert's house burned down...he secured the above information from his father, Elijah James Parker, and Marshal A. Parker of Lima, OH. My Grandfather Thomas also notes that the farm that Elijah James and most of the other children were born at was located at the west end of Shoe Lake in Tippecanoe Township, about two miles east of Oswego, Indiana.
