Sion Parish
a.k.a Parrish
Parish, Nolen, Clark, Thomason, Umstead, Norwood, and allied lines.
Welcome to the first Parish Family site on rootsweb. Created Febuary 2003 this site will be used to further the documentation of the Parish family and allied families.
You will note that there are two ways to spell Parish. The line I am descended from spells the name with one 'r' while Sion Parrish did spell his name with two r's. It has been believed that the name difference means different families and in some cases that is true but there is a distinct point in the past where the name changed from two r's to one 'r'. For convenience though I will use the one 'r' for indexing this and other pages.
