WESTCOAT, JOHN, grantee; MILLER, RALPH et ux [Elizabeth, his wife[nee
DINSMORE]], grantor for deed dated 4/2/1866 in Fayette City for 1800 sq.
ft.; registered 4/14/1866 in Book 17, page 262. This is for a land indenture
for lot #9 [a point of beginning measure lying on Water Street] of the
original plan of said town, alias Freeport, alias Cookstown, but now Fayette
City. This property was formally owned by the Methodist-Episcopal Church
and the principal building used for a Meeting House, but has since passed
through the hands of divers (sic) persons. The lot measured 1800 sq. ft.
and sold for the full consideration amount of 550 dollars lawful money
of the United States. Witnesses were: JOHNSON DINSMORE & WESTLEY LARIMER(**)
[Johnson/Johnston Dinsmore is cousin to John WESTCOAT, and it is supposed
that **Westley/Wesley LARIMER is the descendant of Mary DINSMORE-LARIMER,
who in turn is related in some manner back to an early county HAGERTY family.]
