Frank Pair William Edward Pair line
Bob Colbert RGColbert@aol.com Mary Catherine Peer was my Great-Great-Great Grandmother, she was born around 1827 in Virginia. She married Robert J. Colbert in 1845 in Virginia or West Virginia. They moved to Pennsylvania in the mid 1850's. If you have any knowledge of Mary or Robert, please let me know. Thank you, Bob Colbert, Johnstown, PA.
Suzie Ball email@example.com I am researching William PARE and Rebecca BETHEL. She was born in 1697 in London, England, came to America when she was six months old, and married William PARE. They seem to be the originators of all the other PARE/PAIR families I have found. I am descended from Bethel PARE, one of their children. He moved to Halifax Co., NC from the Surry/Sussex VA area. Will share information.
Reuben Leslie, Jr. firstname.lastname@example.org http://www.io.com/~rlsd My 3G GM was a PARE. My 2G GF, Anderson Bussey (b. 25 July 1824 in Lincoln Co. GA, d. 17 March 1891 in Columbia Co. AR, reared in Meriwether Co. GA and lived in Caldwell (Parish LA 1848-51), was son of Samuel Bussey (b. in SC, d. in GA) and his wife Jane Pare (b. in SC, d. 1867 in GA). The Goodspeed's Biographical and Historical Memoirs of Southern Arkansas (1890) article on Columbia Co. indicates Samuel Bussey and Jane Pare had 3 sons and 3 daughters and that Samuel died many years before Jane who later remarried. I have not been able to trace to parents of Samuel or Jane but have some interesting clues. SC Landgrants index 1784-1800 shows a Samuel Busey in 1797. US Census for SC 1800 shows Samuel Bussey in Spartanburg Co., but neither 1790 nor 1810 census list Samuel. Land Lottery of Georgia 1827 shows "Minors of Jane Bussey" in Lincoln Co., Samuel in Putnam Co., Isaac in Madison Co. 1820 Census shows a James Bussey in Putnam Co.. According to Lynn Bussey Guittard in The Bussey Family Genealogy (1979), there was a Samuel Fleming Bussey b. 1804, son of David and Eleanor Bussey, who m. 1825 Diadem Wallace. The town of Bussey AR was named in honor of Anderson Bussey, son of Jane PARE.

Hannah Peer Gallier HepG@aol.com Hi, My maiden name was Peer. All of the Peers from my branch of the family came from the Cedar Creek area of Va. I have a copy of some wonderful research done by Violet Dial DeMoure and Kathleen Rice in 1979. Philip Peer (my first ancestor in Va) came to Cedar Creek in Shenandoah County in 1778 from N.J. The name was spelled as Pier, Pear, and Peer in the early records. Philip Peer had 13 children. He was married and several of the children were born before he came to Va. One son John served in the Revolutionary War and was stationed near Winchester, Va.
