BIOGRAPHY: The probable lineage of Louis to Sir Velas L'Orange is based upon an approved genealogy of Marie L'Orange Guerrant published in The Huguenot, Publication 19 pp. 118-124. It is just as probable, of course, that Louis was a brother of Jean Velas L'Orange. Jean Velas L'Orange had a daughter Francoise L'Orange who married Daniel Guerrant Le Jeune and later married Samuel Weaver. Jean Velas' father is missing from the chart that connects to his grandfather Jean L'Orange.
The descendents of Louis Abt 1675 to William Edward Orange is by Linwood E. Orange in his Orange of Virginia published 1997. William Edward's family comes largely from his childrens' gravestones and obituaries and contact with his grandchildren by Paige S. Orange (grafted grandson) and Ann Barden Carroll (granddaughter).
