Input any name, word, combination of words/names, or phrase
Don't forget to also go to the
Pace Network and
search there.
Hints and peculiarities:
Searches are case sensitive. However, lower case will find either upper or lower case, but upper case will find only upper case. So setting up searches in all lower case will bring more hits just in case someone didn't capitalize a name.
You can use wild cards. Example: My ancestor is Joseph Nicholas Pace, so I searched for joseph n* pace with Exact Phrase turned on. I used lower case just in case it had been mistyped without capitalization. This gave me all instances of Joseph Nicholas Pace and Joseph N. Pace.
If you use All Words or Any Words and your ancestor's last name is Pace,
try leaving the word Pace out of the search. Every page has the word Pace
dozens of times and you will get a lot of useless hits. Just search
for the given names.
Webmaster's note: Atomz.com, the company that provides this nifty search engine and the software to operate it didn't even ask for a banner on this page (it comes up in the search results), but I want to give them a plug anyway. Check it out!
Also thinks to long time Pace Network member Maureen Mead Pond for the recommendation. Maureen has a nice GenWeb page for Fairfield County, Connecticut, at http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctfairfi
