Lewis Cullen Pace

Here are two old photos of my Pace ancestors from Franklin County, Alabama. The first one is a picture of my great, great, grandfather Lewis Cullen Pace and his wife Mary Jane Hovater. The second is of their son John Cullen Pace, his wife Emma Pace Pace, son Elton, and daughters Eulah and Beulah. John Cullen and Emma are my great grands and Elton is my grandfather. The picture of John cullen and family would have been taken around 1910 since my grandfather Elton was born in 1904 and appears to be about 4 or 5 years old in this picture. Carefully compare these images to another photo on your website, of a "Louis Pace" and family, submitted by Addie Faye Pace. The spelling is different, and the people are older, but Lewis and "Louis" are the same man. Also, the man in the second row of Addie's picture identified as "Dan Pace" is actually, I believe, my great granfather John Cullen. The information that I have is as follows:

Descendants of Lewis Cullen Pace

1 Lewis Cullen Pace b: June 15, 1848 d: Unknown

. +Mary Jane Hovator b: October 23, 1844 d: October 21, 1922

...... 2 [1] John Cullen Pace b: April 16, 1865 d: January 31, 1946

.......... +Emma Pace Pace b: Unknown d: Abt. 1910

.............. 3 Elton Pace b: June 30, 1904 d: February 1972

.................. +Gladys May Day b: April 23, 1908 d: March 1972

.............. 3 Eula Rasale Pace b: April 30, 1906 d: March 29, 1991

.............. 3 Beulah Leona Pace b: December 18, 1907 d: May 11, 1944

...... *2nd Wife of [1] John Cullen Pace:

.......... +Minnie Willis b: December 05, 1886 d: January 1977

By the way, family tradition has it that Emma Pace Pace was not descended from the same line as Lewis and John Cullen but rather was part of an ITALIAN family of Paces which settled in Franklin County and which had two sons and a daughter. Emma was the daughter. Emma died in a fire shortly after this family photo was taken. John Cullen Pace remarried to Minnie Willis. Supposedly, Emma's brothers both married Paces too. I have seen pictures of them in a an old family reunion photo which must have had fifty people or so in it. Unfortunately I don't know who has the picture, but I will try to track it down. I would love to know more about Emma's side of the family, as well as any information that anyone can provide about the Franklin County Paces in general.
