Mary Belle Pace Bailey

Thnis is a photo taken before 1909 of Mary Belle Pace Bailey. We have the 16x20 of this that was passed down from her daughter. Elizabeth (b. 1898), to my husband.

Mary Belle was born 16 August 1874 in Iowa and died 4 December 1909 in Salida, Chaffee County, Colorado. She is buried in Cleora Cemetery, Salida, Colorado, and her tombstone indicates she was affiliated with Women of Woodcraft.

Mary Belle was one of 8 children. Siblings include: Edwin R (b. 1867) William D. (b. 1869) Martha R. (b. 1872), Sarah (b. 1877), John C. (b. 1878) Gracie M. (b. 1882) and Daisy A. (b. 1884).

She was the daughter of Elizabeth Morgan and Edward A. Pace. Edward was born 4 March 1846 in DuBois County, Indiana to Martha Kirby and Daniel Pace. Edward was a Civil War veteran who died on or about 5 August 1926 in Salida, Chaffee County, Colorado and is buried in Monte Vista Cemetery in Homelake, Colorado.

In 1893, Mary Belle Pace married Austin A. Bailey. They had 3 children - one of whom was my husband's grandmother, Elizabeth Rosella Bailey Harrington.
