The following information comes from Steven Cronau in a message of May 9, 1999: "The Map of Michael Pace property is in Washington Township, Morris, Co., Net Jersey. It is a map from "Early Germans of New Jersey" by T. F. Chambers. Michael Pace of New Jersey born in about 1735 and died in Wyoming, Luzerne Co., PA in 1818. These Paces, I believe, are of German descent."
Comment: Pace is not a German name but instances of German names (such as Pass) being changed to Pace in this country have been found.
