Funeral services for Matthew John Oxford, 95, 1917 Villa Avenue, who died Thursday ( Jan 7, 1954) at a hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Assembly of God church.

Rev. A.M. Albers will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Anderson funeralhome has charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Oxford, the former Albyn Spicer, whom Mr. Oxford married at Salem, Nova Scotia in 1887, died here in 1949.

Mr. Oxford was born July 18, 1858, in New Brunswick, Canada. He came to Sioux City in 1923.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Blanch McLeod of Sioux City and Mrs. Sadie Barr of Tucson, Ariz; three sons, Jack of Waterloo, Ia., Russell of Seattle, Wash., and Lester of Sioux City, eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Hannah Stanton of Fairburn. O.

Mrs. Albyn E. Oxford

Funeral services for Mrs. Albyn E. Oxford, 79, 1917 Villa avenue, a Sioux Citzen for 26 years, who died Tuesday at her home, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Assembly of God Church, Rev. A. M. Alber will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial park cemetery under direction of the Anderson funeral home.

Mrs. Albyn E. Oxford

Mrs. Albyn E. Oxford, 79, 1917 Villa avenue, a resident here the last 26 years, died Tuesday night at her home after an illness of several weeks. (April 5, 1949)

Mrs. Oxford was born May 10, 1869, in Nova Scotia, Canada. She lived in Michigan 23 yearsand at Watertown, S. D. for 13 years before coming here in 1933.

She was a member of the First Assembly of God church.

Survivors are the widower, Matthew; two daughters, Mrs. Blanche McLeod of Sioux City and Mrs. Sadie Barr of Tucson, Ariz; three sons, Jack of Waterloo, Ia., Russel of Seattle and Leslie of Sioux City; three sisters in Washington; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The body was taken to the Anderson funeral home.
