John Samuel Oxford

John Samuel Oxford was born January 23, 1876 in Sulphur Springs, Hopkins County, Texas and died October 1, 1963 in Krebs Oklahoma and was interred at Oakhill Cemetery October 3, 1963 McAlester, Oklahoma. John's parents were John Collins Oxford and Susan A. Cate.

I don't have a lot of information on John S. Below is what I do know.

When John was a youth, about 1892 he robbed a U.S. Post Office I am unsure of where, he was sent to prison. Sometime after his release he was playing poker and was hit over the head from behind with a bottle, he pulled his gun and turned and shot, he shot the wrong person and killed them and went to McAlester Prison.

John married, Emma Unknown who's birth date is May 5, 1884 born in Texas. They had two children. According to his death record he lived in Krebs, Oklahoma for fifty-five years. I am seeking further information on J.S and his family. John's occupation is listed as a coal-miner on the 1910 Pittsburgh County, Oklahoma Census records
