A Family Tree Tip

Nearly 30 years ago when I was first married and began working on our line of the OXFORD family tree like most folks I made some mistakes in the beginning...( I still do)...
One thing I did do right was ask the family members if there is a genealogy book or chart within the family. Someone may have already worked on the family tree? Come to find out Bernell Whillock the spouse of a cousin to my husband had collected some information and it made a wonderful start for my now 30 years of researching...
I will always be grateful for the things she shared and preserved and she also shared other family members from other states who she had corresponded with...One being Mickie Griffin, from then Lawton Oklahoma, Mickie is ill and can't research anymore she has moved to Tennessee to be near her son...However, no one I know could ever compare with the hundreds of documents and mounds of research she inspired....
So the moral of the story is ASK QUESTIONS...If you don't get an answers keep asking till you do.....
