Claborn was born to George Washington and Billie Bird Veal Oxford, Claborn was the eldest of Five children.
Claborn met and married Betsey Ennis 22 December 1934 in Oklahoma. They shared marital bless for a wonderful 62 years. They were blessed with three children, Maxine, Wesley and Lenore all born in Oklahoma.
Claborn and Betsey moved to Glendale, California after their children were born then later moved to Tulare County, California.
Claborn is survived by a sister Ada Bratton of Phillips, Oklahoma, two daughters Sara Maxine Johnston of Pixley, California, Lenora Smith of Idaho, One Son: Wesley Oxford of Glendale, California. 4 Grand children and twelve Great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: Parents: George Washington and Billie Bird Veal Oxford, stepmother Eula Holiday- Walker- Oxford, Two brothers: Allie L. Oxford of California, Hurchel Oxford of Coal County, Oklahoma a sister Vera Richardson of Texas, and a Grandson Alan Ray Johnston of California.
