PS - I found the following extract from the records when I was at the Lewes Record Office recently :

"Sydney seems to have been a favourite place for the emigrants to be sent; on 3rd December 1841 at Battle, the Vestry decided to send James King and his family and also Robert Saxby and his family to Sydney 'to which place they are anxious to Emigrate". This phrase and others like it occur time and time again; in each case the parish concerned makes it quite clear that the emigrantsare being sent at their own request to these foreign place and unknown chances."

{S0229} Tomas H Bryant 2003. Book Extract : "A History of the Windellama Post Office 1863 - 1952" : GEGG, James Albert (0017).

In October 1891 James Gegg of the Junction Store at Windellama made application to the Postal and Electric Telegraph Department to be allowed to sell stamps at his store. Mrs Cartwright (the Postmistress) wrote to the Department stating that she always had ample stocks of stamps and Mr GEGG could obtain stamps from her for use at his store. The Department declined Mr Gegg's application.

Witnesses : William CROKER (by his mark) and Elizabeth CARTWRIGHT

Ceremony performed by : Edmund PROCTOR

[NB : James Croker and Dinah Croker nee Veil (Veale) were recorded as Sarah's parents but this is not correct. This couple sponsored and paid for Sarah's passage to Australia and so it is possible that she saw them as filling the role of parents and therefore declared them as such at the wedding. Maybe this was a gesture of affection and respect. Another alternative is that the Minister when completing the record believed that James and Dinah were her parents and then recorded it as such even though it was wrong. It is probable that Sarah couldn't read and so would not have noticed the incorrect information when she signed with her mark]
