Text from this Source :

Extract from Bankruptcy Records :
Bankruptcy Records : Stated he was a miner and smelter at Mt Hope (South of Cobar). This was his first bankruptcy and he did not keep any books (i.e. Bookkeeping books).
Cause of his bankruptcy is unclear (poorly written) but goes on :-
He worked his business at South Mt Hope for last two years. Has been residing in these places. He had been in the district over 2 years. When he came to the area he had about £3 or £4 capital but at present had no money in hand.
He owed a small amount on the premises he occupied.
"I was married, my wife is dead. I have one child under age."
He signed his name with a mark.
He owed £78.19.6 to woodcarters, publicans, butcher and shopkeepers.
Cause of bankruptcy stated again ... through working for 7 months on (indecipherable) at South Mt Hope copper mine and a loss (?) ... could never recover myself

A little note to let you know that your Aunty Lucy passed away at 4.40pm on 4th June 2003. I have been in constant contact with Lucy all the time. She had a stroke about 18 months ago & has not been too well since. Two weeks before she died she had a leg amputated but had got over that, and was making a good recovery when she contracted pneumonia a few days before death. She was 75 years. Lucy missed Tom very much & even when I saw her, you could detect the gap his death had left.

8 August 1946 : Goulburn Evening Penny Post (Probably)

HEADING : Obituary - Mr Albert GEGG
The death occurred on August 1 in hospital at Springsure, Qld, of Mr Albert GEGG eldest son of the late Mr and Mrs J A GEGG of Pineleigh, North Goulburn, and formerly of Windellama. Mr GEGG, who was 73 years of age, had lived in Goulburn district for quite a number of years, and was keenly interested in various kinds of sport, especially cricket. He married Miss Lucy HOCKEY, second daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Thos HOCKEY, of Connor's Creek, Windellama, and later went to Queensland, where he had lived up to the time of his death. His wife predeceased him by 11 years, also one daughter, Olive, one son, Eric, and one brother, Charles. He is survived by two sons, Bert and Fred, of Springsure and one daughter, Florrie (Mrs D GASKELL, North Queensland), also six grandchildren, two brothers and four sisters. The brothers are Arthur (Windellama), Tom (Goulburn). Martha (Mrs LATHAM, Moss Vale), Janet (Mrs. A BOREHAM, Grenfell), Bertha (Mrs H HARRIS, Gloucester) and Florrie (Mrs H COLLINS, Moss Vale) are the sisters. Mrs George HOCKEY, Windellama is an aunt. In spite of his failing health, the late Mr GEGG was of a very cheerful disposition, and always ready to give a helping hand where needed. He was a devoted member of his church, and was laid to rest beside his wife in the C of E cemetery, Springsure.

Text from this Source :

Mr James A GEGG, a well known identity in Goulburn, died at his residence on Wednesday morning his age being 65*. The deceased was born in England, and at the age of 12 years came out to Australia with his parents. He was engaged in farm work for an old relative for some time, and later took up his residence at Windellama where for many years he kept a store. About 12 years ago he came to Goulburn and afterwards became an Alderman of the Municipal Council.
He was a past Master of the Protestant Alliance Friendly Society, was President of the North Goulburn Parents & Citizens Association and at one time offered himself as a candidate for Parliament in the independent interest but was defeated. He was also a member of the Lodge Duke of Edinburgh. He took a keen interest in mining and was very well known in Braidwood where for some time he took an active part in the mining ventures of that district. Mr GEGG always had vivid recollections of the old gold mining days during which period he had many experiences. Leaves a widow and family.
*James died 7 weeks before what would have been his 65th birthday

Dear John, hope you are recovering from your accident.

Sorry about the illegible items, and yes it was Marsh not MASH! There are so many Tickners all over Kent and Sussex, all with the same Christian names, that it is hard to be sure we've got the right ones. Peter Tickner is listed as living on Romney Marsh on the 1861 census. Thomas Tickner was born 24.07.1825 and was married to Elizabeth Killick born 23.03.1831. They had two children Thomas born 1850 and Eliza born 1854.

My family stem from Thomas' brother William born 1830 and married to Elizabeth Burgess.

I am in contact with other members of this extended family and it is through them I have got these dates.I believe they have a family bible going back a few generations. As to Stockbridge it could be the name of a place or the name of the farm where they lived.

Sorry I can't be of more help (Deleted personal)

best wishes, Jacqueline.
