John Frederick BURLEY,1 son of John Williams BURLEY (1849-1915) and Sarah Jane PARTRIDGE (1858-1949), was born on 30 September 1892 in Texas, Qld. (probably).1,2 Before 23 March 1916 he was a labourer .3

between 23 March 1916 and 19 January 1919 when aged 23-26 he served in World War I in the Light Horse. He attained the rank of Private.4 In 1919 he was a farmer at Warroo Rd in Inglewood, Qld.5 In 1919 he resided at Warroo Rd in Inglewood.5 He married Lillian Mary SCOTT on 7 June 1919 .6 Between 1930 and 1937 he was a farmer in Ramley, Qld.7

between 1930 and 1943 he and Lillian Mary SCOTT lived in Ramley. (This is a minimum period which was probably much longer).7

John and Lillian had at least one child, Harold (still living 2013).8

John died (aged 74) on 20 September 1967 in Texas.1,9 He was buried in 1967 in the general cemetery in Texas.9,10
