Samuel NEWTON (1852-1878)

Samuel NEWTON1 [907], son of Samuel NEWTON (1819?-1895) [905] and Elizabeth BERRYMAN (1827-1912) [906], was born in 1852 in Garris, Cornwall.1,2

he migrated from Plymouth, Devonshire to Adelaide, South Australia arriving on 20 February 1855. He travelled to Australia with his parents and sister Elizabeth Ann (who died during the journey) on board the ship "Rodney" which departed Plymouth on 20 November 1854.1

he died (aged 26) in 1878 in Tataila, Vic. The cause was drowning in a dam.1 He was buried in April 1878 in the general cemetery in Moama, NSW.1
