she died (aged 80) on 10 October 1858 in Tregony.1,2
Some records indicate her family name as Mayse rather than May.
Charles BURLEY1 was the son of Charles BURLEY (1743-1826) and Catherine PERRYMAN (1745-1815).
According to researcher Julie, the Charles Burley who married Rebecca May in 1796 was the illegitimate son of Dorothy Netten, baptised in 1768, not the son of Charles and Catherine (nee Perryman). Further research is required.3

Text From Source: "Hi John, I’m sorry to say you have a mistake with the Charles Burley who married Rebecca May in 1796. The Charles Burley who married Rebecca May in 1796 was the illegitimate son of Dorothy Netten, baptised in 1768, he was NOT the son of Charles & Catherine (nee Perryman), that Charles was a different person altogether !! ‘Our’ Charles died in 1851, aged 85, in Tregony, I have visited his headstone many times. The Charles who was the son of Charles & Catherine (nee Perryman), died in Plymouth, Devon, a long way from Tregony ! Kind regards, Julie" |
