William O'LOUGHLIN,1 son of James O'LOUGHLIN ( - ) and Catherine MCCANN ( - ), was born in 1861 (approx.) in Rathangan, Kildare in Ireland.1 He was a follower of the Catholic faith .2 He married Catherine LAWLER on 28 June 1887 in Michelago, NSW.3
between 1 November 1916 and 17 March 1919 when aged 54-58 he served in World War I in the 2nd Field Artillery Brigade, 1st AIF. His service number was 34799 and he attained the rank of Gunner. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Vic on board HMAT (A29)"Suevic" on 21 June 1917.3 He was a farmer .2
he died (aged 89) on 20 August 1950 in Pennant Hills West, NSW.1
Catherine LAWLER1 was the daughter of James LAWLER (1813?-1894) and Catherine COMMINS (1830?-1912). She and William O'LOUGHLIN had the following children:
