Samuel Thomas JONES,1 son of Samuel White JONES (1849?-1896) and Elizabeth Mary HILL (1849-1941), was born in 1875 at the BDM District in Parramatta, NSW.2,3,4 His relationship to Ellen is Paternal Grandfather. Samuel was a produce carter . He worked for a produce merchant. He was described as a Horse Driver on his son Leslie's wedding certificate in 1921.4,5,6,7
Samuel married Mary ANDERSON on 5 December 1899 at the Independent Presbyterian Church at 471 Pitt St in Sydney, NSW. They were married according to the rites of this church. Both Samuel and Mary listed the same address when they were married. It is believed that they were living in a de facto relationship before marriage. Their eldest son Roy was born before they were married.6,8
on 5 December 1899 they lived at 8 Bullanaming St in Redfern, NSW. Both listed this address at the time of their marriage.8
he died (aged 28) on 17 July 1903 at 41 Turner St in Redfern. The cause was Pneumonia (1 Week).4 He was buried on 18 July 1903 in the Church of England section of Rookwood cemetery in Lidcombe, NSW.4
