Thomas COMMINS (1843?-1913)

Thomas COMMINS,1 son of Michael COMMINS (1806-1891) and Mary CONROY (1809-1891), was born in 1843 (approx.) in Burren, Clare.1,2

he migrated from Burren to Sydney, NSW arriving on 28 June 1850. He travelled to Australia with his parents on the ship "Lloyds" which is estimated to have left about February 1850. The family settled in the Michelago district.3,4 The shipping documents indicate his place of origin as Cross Gleg, Co. Tyrone Ireland.5 Thomas was a follower of the Catholic faith .2 He married Margaret COTTER in 1880 in Deniliquin, NSW.1

he died (aged 70) in 1913 in Deneliquin, NSW.2

 

COMMINS and CUMMINS are different spellings of the family name.

 

Margaret COTTER1 was the daughter of Garrett COTTER (1802-1886) and Ann RUSSELL (1819-1897). She and Thomas COMMINS had the following children:
