James LAWLER,1 son of Michael LAWLER ( - ) and Bridget or Mary SHAUGHNESSY ( - ), was born in 1813 (approx.) in Glanroe, Clare.1
he migrated from Clare, Ireland to Sydney, NSW arriving in 1844. He probably settled in the Michelago district.2 He married Catherine COMMINS on 17 February 1855 at St Gregory's Catholic Church in Queanbeyan, NSW.3,4
in 1861 they lived at "Rock Forest" in Burra, NSW.2
he died (aged 81) on 19 February 1894 in Burra.1,5 He was buried in 1894 in Grave 18 of the General Cemetery in Michelago, NSW.6
Catherine COMMINS1 was the daughter of Michael COMMINS (1806-1891) and Mary CONROY (1809-1891). She and James LAWLER had the following children:
