Michael Edward John OWEN1 [3], son of John Edward OWEN [1] and Ellen Mary JONES [2], was born on 16 January 1970 at Auburn District Hospital in Auburn, NSW.1,2,3,4,5 His Relationship to John and Ellen is Son.

On 16 January 1970 Michael resided at 17 Weir Cres in Lurnea, NSW. He was living with his parents.1 He was baptised on 1 March 1970 at St. Francis Xaviers Catholic Church, 71 Webster Rd in Lurnea.5,6 In August 1974 he resided at Eleanor St in Rosehill, NSW. He was living with his parents.1

Between 1975 and 1985 Michael was educated . Michael attended a number of schools as his parents moved around. He started at Harris Park Primary then Glen Alice Priamry, Rydal Primary, Hannam Vale Primary, Taree Catholic Primary, Taree Catholic High and finally Chatham High.7,8,9

In May 1975 Michael resided at Railway Pde in Harris Park, NSW. He was living with his parents.1 In December 1975 he resided at Rylestone Rd in Glen Alice, NSW. He was living with his parents.1 In 1976 (approx.) he resided in Rydal, NSW. He was living with his parents.1 In January 1978 he resided at Lorne Rd in Hannam Vale, NSW. He was living with his parents.1 In July 1978 he resided at Hannam Vale Rd in Stewarts River, NSW. He was living with his parents.1 In August 1984 he resided at 47 Bruntnell St in Chatham, NSW. He was living with his parents.1 In February 1985 he resided at 15 Commerce St in Taree, NSW. He was living with his parents.1

After 1986 Michael was a printer . He was a qualified printer and his services were in demand until the computer revolution had a severe impact on the anount of jobs available.1 In 1987 he resided at 18 Valerie St in Taree. He was living with his parents.1 From 1987 to 1993 he resided in Sydney, NSW. He lived in various boarding houses and flats in Sydney while he moved around. Some of the time he shared with friends including Kylie Michelmore.1 Between 1993 and 1994 he resided at 1/4 Commerce Lane in Taree. He lived in his parents garage for awhile and then took over flat 1 of his parents rental property with Kylie Michelmore.1 Between 1994 and 2001 he resided in Sydney. He lived in various boarding houses and flats in Sydney while he moved around.1 In 2001 he resided at 2/4 Commerce Lane in Taree. He was living in one of his parents' flats.1 In 2002 he resided in Sydney. He lived in various boarding houses and flats in Sydney.1

In 2007 (approx.) Michael was a furniture removalist . He worked for about twelve months doing this.1 In 2011 he resided in Newcastle, NSW. After moving around a bit, including living for a short while in Brisbane, he stayed awhile in Newcastle but eventually moved back to Sydney.1

he died (aged 45) on 9 August 2015 at a friend's residence located at 4/570 Elizabeth Street in Redfern, NSW. [[Cause : multi-drug toxicity, i.e. Heroin Overdose. Michael apparently was suffering from at least a cold, if not something worse, as he had been sleeping out in some of the coldest weather Sydney had seen in many years. Presumably, because of this, he had been to the doctor the day before as he had some medical scripts. On that morning (Sunday), he approached a friend, asking if he could stay until he got better and that person said yes. They then both injected some heroin. The friend had to go out. When he/she returned, he/she found Michael and he/she could not get any response. He/she rang the emergency services on 000 and with the guidance of the operator applied CPR until the ambulance arrived but they were unable to revive him. It was about 10.40am]].10,11,12

Michael was buried on 21 August 2015 in Catholic Section J, Lot 25, Site 2, Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Camden Valley Way in Leppington, NSW. The service was conducted by Father Michael Healey, Parish Priest, of St. John the Evangelist Parish at Campbellown. Prayers were said for him at Mass at that Church on the following Sunday. Both the priest and the prayers were organised by Michael's Uncle and Aunt, Tony and Margaret Vitagliano.13,14,15

 

He had a long-term relationship with Kylie Michelmore during his twenties but they eventually went their seperate ways.1

 

He was a talented musician who played the guitar.1
