Elizabeth Ann Tickner

James TICKNER,1 son of Henry TICKNER (bef1821-1895) and Martha RIDEOUT (1828-1875), was born on 29 November 1859 at "Camberfield" in Camden, NSW.1,2 From 1880 to 1883 he resided in Jacqua, NSW. In 1883 he was at Jerrara Creek through to about 1887 during which period he married Elizabeth.2 He married Elizabeth Ann TICKNER on 27 May 1885 at the Church of England in Marulan, NSW.1,2

from 1885 to 1887 they lived in Jerrara Creek, NSW. They then leased property at Bungonia Creek until c.1891. They are next found as leaseholders at Shelleys Flats where they stayed until they returned to Jerrara Creek again in 1897. From c.1900 until James' death in 1941 they were at Valetta St Moss Vale.2 From 1900 to 1941 he was a dairyman at Valetta St. in Moss Vale, NSW.2

James and Elizabeth had seven children.

- James H TICKNER (b.1892 Marulan NSW 4004 / 1892; d.1965)

- Amy L TICKNER (b.1899 Goulburn NSW 21039 / 1899)

- Unknown TICKNER (b. betw. 1899 - 1907 Goulburn)

- Gordon F TICKNER (B.1907 Moss Vale NSW 26486 / 1907)

All the sons married and had children. The two youngest sons married sisters who came from France after World War I.

Ethel died aged four when her dress caught fire when she and her brother Walter Thomas were playing with matches and setting fire to grass in the paddock.

Amy Lillian died aged twenty-one at Berrima District Hospital following an operation for appendicitis.3,4

James died (aged 81) on 8 May 1941 at Valetta St. in Moss Vale.5,6,7 He was buried in May 1941 in Bong Bong, NSW.8

 

Elizabeth Ann TICKNER1,2,9 (known as 'Lizzie') was the daughter of Edward TICKNER (1837-1923) and Susan FULLER (1842-1917).
