Alice Jane Tickner (nee Dominish

John TICKNER1,2 (known as 'Jack'), son of Henry TICKNER (bef1821-1895) and Martha RIDEOUT (1828-1875), was born before 21 October 1856 at "Camberfield" in Camden, NSW.1,3 He was christened on 21 October 1856 in an unidentified place or church.1 He was a fettler .4 He was mentioned in a newspaper report in the Camden News; of 15 Feb 1900.

Mr John TICKNER

On Thursday, February 8, Mr John TICKNER, aged 43, son of the late Mr Henry TICKNER, expired at the Camden Cottage Hospital, where he had been under treatment for some internal complaint. Deceased worked on the farm of Mr F J DENGATE's as a confident man, and lived on Mr Frank DENGATE's property, Camden. He leaves a family of 9 besides a circle of friends and relatives by whom he was deeply respected. The funeral took place at Camden, and was largely attended. The Rev. EFFERNAN conducted the service in an impressive manner.5 He married Alice Jane DOMINISH on 5 May 1878 in Cawdor, NSW.1,3,6

he died on 8 February 1900 at the BDM District in Camden.1,3,7 He was buried in February 1900 in St John's Churchyard in Camden.3

John and Alice had nine children. The first two were born at Burrowa, NSW while others were born at Gunning and the last two were born in the Parish of Picton (possibly at the property "Mount Hercules"). [Some known names are Charles (Chock) Tickner who was a police sergeant at Gulgong and married Lena; Jack Tickner; Harry Tickner; Emily Tickner; Martha Tickner; George Tickner and Alice Myrtle Tickner who was born at Fish River near Gunning. The birth order is not known].3,4
