Anne MCNAMARA (1835-1884)

Anne MCNAMARA,1,2 daughter of Bartholomew MCNAMARA (1791?-1856) and Bridget LENEHAN (1788-1873), was born in 1835 in Lisdounlardins, Clare.3,4 She was a follower of the Catholic faith .5,6 She was described as able to read and write .7

she migrated to Sydney, NSW arriving before 1851. It's not known when she came to Australia but it's believed she was already there when her parants arrived on the "Sarah" on 14 August 1851.8,9 She married John WALKER on 14 April 1857 at the BDM District in Queanbeyan, NSW.10,11

John and Anne had 7 children :

- Margaret WALKER (b. 1858 Queanbeyan, NSW)

- Richard WALKER (b. 1860 Queanbeyan, NSW)

- Mary WALKER (b. 1862 Queanbeyan, NSW)

- John WALKER (b. 1864 Queanbeyan, NSW)

- Catherine WALKER (b. 1867 Queanbeyan, NSW)

- Ann WALKER (b. 1869 Queanbeyan, NSW)

- Bridget WALKER (b. 1873 Queanbeyan, NSW).12,13

Anne died (aged 49) in 1884 at "Creekborough" in Bungendore, NSW.14,15 She was buried in 1884 in the general cemetery in Bungendore.16
