Mary MCNAMARA (1829?-1913)

Mary MCNAMARA,1,2 daughter of Bartholomew MCNAMARA (1791?-1856) and Bridget LENEHAN (1788-1873), was born in 1829 (calculated) in Clare, Ireland. Shipping records indicate her native place as Lisdrumlandna, Clare.3 She was a follower of the Catholic faith .4 In 1851 she was a domestic servant .4 In 1851 she was able to read and write.4

Mary migrated from Plymouth, Devonshire to Port Jackson Sydney, NSW arriving on 14 August 1851. She travelled to Australia with her parents and siblings on the ship "Sarah" which left c. May 1851. They settled in the Queanbeyan NSW district.4,5

she died (aged 84) on 15 May 1913 in a place still to be located.6 She was buried in Michelago, NSW.6
