Mary "Polly" Grady
Mary Ann GRADY1,2 (known as 'Polly'), daughter of Cornelius GRADY (1846-1888) and Margaret RYAN (1851-1940), was born in 1887 at the BDM District in Queanbeyan, NSW.2,3 She was a nurse . Her niece Johanna 'Nellie' (nee McNamara) says she was the first Triple Certificate Nurse in NSW.1 She married Garrett James COTTER in 1919 at the BDM District in Goulburn, NSW.2,4
Garrett and Mary had 3 children :
- Gerrard COTTER
- William COTTER
- John (k/a Jack) COTTER.1,2
Polly died (aged 40) on 17 February 1927 in Ryde, NSW.2 She was buried in 1927 in the RC section of the general cemetery in Ryde.2
Garrett James COTTER2,5,6 was the son of James COTTER (1842-1922) and Elizabeth LENANE (1841-1911).
