Eva Jane JONES (1877-1950)

Eva Jane JONES, daughter of Samuel White JONES (1849?-1896) and Elizabeth Mary HILL (1849-1941), was born in 1877 at the BDM District in Parramatta, NSW.1 She married George R QUICK in 1897 at the BDM District in Newtown, NSW.2 On 2 February 1916 she resided at c/- A B Scott, "Manhattan" Billyard Ave in Elizabeth Bay, in New Zealand. Whether she actually lived there or was just visiting is not known although the address being c/- suggests the latter.3 Between 1930 and 1933 she resided at 64 Princes Hwy in Rockdale, NSW. Her daughter Eva Mary was living with her. By 1937, they had moved to 57 William St, Darlington, NSW and they were still living there in 1949.4,5,6

George and Eva had two children :

- George R QUICK (b. 6604 / 1898 Redfern BDM, d. 3084 / 1898 Redfern BDM)

- Isma M QUICK (b. 6722 / 1900 Redfern BDM, d. 3205 / 1900 Redfern BDM).7

Eva JONES had a child, Eva Mary ADIE, born in the Redfern BDM District in 1902. Eva Mary became a saleswoman.4,8,9

Eva died (aged 73) in 1950 at the BDM District in Sydney, NSW. Her death was recorded under the name Eva Jane ADIE.10

No father was listed on the birth certificate but the child was given the surname ADIE. A marriage record hasn't been found

Letters from and to her advising current situation in relation to her missing brother, George Jones. Eva Jane was referring to herself as Eva ADIE in 1917 when she wrote to the military requesting information about her missing brother George JONES. However when she wrote that letter she was in New Zealand, so a New Zealand marriage is possible.
