Annie Emily NETTLETON (1844-1927)

Annie Emily NETTLETON1 was born on 28 May 1844 in Windellama, NSW.2,3,4 She was christened on 25 October 1844 at St Saviour in Goulburn, NSW.5 Annie's parents were William NETTLETON and Mary A SHEPHERD of Windellama. They had at least one other child, Hester NETTLETON (1846 - 1929) who married John LITTLE (1844 - 1919).6,7,8

Annie married Richard TICKNER on 23 December 1867 at Christ Church in Bungonia, NSW.9

Richard and Annie had 11 children :

- Eliza Jane NETTLETON (TICKNER) (b. 16 Jul 1863; d. 26 Aug 1939). On 9 Mar 1887 she married John CALTHORPE (b. 5 May 1861; d. 24 Mar 1937). They had 7 children. Eliza's birth was registered (NSW 7807 / 1863 ) as Nettleton - not Tickner (with no father recorded) - so she may or may not have been Richard's daughter

- Peter Richard TICKNER (b. 27 May 1868; d. 20 Jul 1954). On 23 Jun 1897 he married Emily Jane ROBERTS (b.1874; d. 18 Jun 1949). They had 2 children

- Joseph Edward TICKNER (b. 16 Apr 1870). On 5 May 1897 he married Annie Louisa MARSH (b. 1867; d. 1952). They had 2 children

- Mary Ann TICKNER (b. 9 Sep 1872; d. 1 Apr 1875; bur. Bungonia Cemetery)

- Charlotte Elizabeth TICKNER (b. 13 Sep 1874; d. 8 Sep 1935). On 27 Mar 1899 she married Charles Edward MARSH (b.1864). They had 9 children

- Richard William TICKNER (b. 17 Jul 1876; d. 1 Jun 1897; bur. Bungonia Cemetery)

- Edward Robert W TICKNER (b.18 Oct 1878; d. 8 Jun 1883; bur. Bungonia Cemetery)

- John Carpenter TICKNER (b. 17 Jun 1881; d. 2 Nov 1851. On 19 Jun 1906 he married Selina Halls HOLGATE (b. 16 Feb 1822; d. 14 Jan 1957). They had 3 children

- William Charles TICKNER (b. 22 Aug 1883; d. 12 Mar 1956). On 23 Aug 1922 he married Ida RUSSELL (b. c.1888)

- George Henry TICKNER (b. 26 Sep 1886; d. 10 Sep 1956). On 22 Feb 1911 he married Azalea Mary HATTER (b. c.1888). They had 3 children

- Alice Maud May TICKNER (b. 14 Apr 1889). On 26 May 1913 she married Thos Chas STONE.10,11

Annie died (aged 82) on 16 February 1927 in Bungonia.7,12 She was buried in February 1927 in the general cemetery in Bungonia.12

 

Richard TICKNER1 was the son of Peter TICKNER (bef1815-1854) and Mary Ann CARPENTER (1818-1897).
