Henry GRADY (1841-1917)

Henry GRADY,¹ son of Martin GRADY (1798?-1858) and Mary KNIGHT (1815?-1853), was born on 1 December 1841 in Teraconera, NSW.^2,3 He was baptised on 3 April 1842 at St Mary's Cathedral, College St in Sydney, NSW.³ He was a follower of the Catholic faith and then later the Church of England faith .³ He was a farmer .³ He was a carrier .³ He married Isabella HEASLIP on 12 September 1859 at St Andrew's Church of England in Braidwood, NSW.⁴

Henry and Isabella had 10 children :

- James GRADY (b. 1860 at Braidwood; d. 5 Oct 1923 Adelong NSW; bur. 1923 Adelong Cemetery, Sect E). He married Eliza TODD in 1881 at Adelong NSW [ Registration 6021/1881 ]. They had 7 children

- Mary GRADY (b. 1862)

- Martin GRADY (b. 1864)

- Margaret GRADY (b. 1867)

- Henry GRADY (b. 1869)

- George Robert GRADY (b. 13 Nov 1871 Gunning NSW; d. 1933 Gosford NSW). He married Martha HEWETT in 1901 at Narrandara NSW). They had 2 children.

- Isabella GRADY (b. 9 May 1874 Adelong NSW; d. 1954). She married Cornelius O'CONNOR. They had 4 children.

- David GRADY (b. 31 Dec 1876 Todds Cornor near Adelong NSW; d. 1940 Paddington NSW). He married Margaret Jane ALEXANDER on 13 Mar 1907. They had 4 children.

- Annie GRADY (b. 14 Jan 1880 Adelong NSW; d. 1927 Coolamon NSW). She married George Charles HOPKINS. They had 5 children.

- John GRADY (b. 15 Aug 1882 Adelong NSW; d. 3 Sep 1961 Wagga Wagga NSW). He married Harriet Letitia CAIN. They had 5 children.⁵

Henry died (aged 75) on 9 January 1917 in Matong, NSW.⁶ He was buried in January 1917 in Adelong, NSW.³
