Basil Francis TINSON was born on 3 January 1926 in Punchbowl, NSW.1 Basil's parents were Oliver Tinson and Beatrice Mary TINSON**. They are both buried at Pennant Hills. It's known that he also had three brothers, Max, Colin and Allan.2,3

in 1944 (estimated) when aged 17-18 Basil served in World War II . He enlisted at Paddington, NSW. His service number was NX203004.1 Between 1945 and 1948 he was a soldier . After the Second World War, he continued service in the army but it is believed he received a dishonourable discharge.4,5 In 1949 he was a plasterer .6 About 1955 he disappeared and it's not known what became of him.7

Basil died after 1955 .5

 

Johanna Ellen Mary Catherine MCNAMARA (known as 'Nellie') was the daughter of Thomas Patrick MCNAMARA (1872-1945) and Ellen Agnes GRADY (1883-1958). She and Basil Francis TINSON had the following children:
