James PARTRIDGE (1822- )

James PARTRIDGE,1,2 son of Stephen PARTRIDGE (1793-1878) and Sarah WILLIAMS (1796-1830), was born on 4 February 1822 in Port Macquarie, NSW. In an undated historical feature press release by the Port Macquarie Historical Society, James' father is reported as fathering the first white baby born in Port Macquarie. If the article is correct then James was that baby.3,4,5,6,7 He was christened on 9 May 1824 at St Thomas Church of England in Port Macquarie.8,9 Between 1 October 1828 and 31 December 1828 he was educated at St Thomas' Church of England building in Port Macquarie. He was listed as a pupil of the "Early School" conducted there for the quarter ending 31 December 1828.10 He married Lydia BAILEY on 11 March 1854 at the Church of England in the Hunter River District in NSW. Areas covered by the Hunter River District BDM (CT) include : Black Creek, Bulwarra, Cloden, East Maitland, Hinton, Hunter District, Maitland, Morpeth, West Maitland.6,7,11,12

James and Lydia had 1 child :
